If you had your driveway paved by William Stanley & Sons you may, indeed be subject to a "mechanics lien." What happens is that the Stanley company bought materials from Lakeside Industries and didn't pay them. Since the materials were used on your driveway, Lakeside can file a lien against your property for the value of the supplied materials.
This happens all the time when companies do the work for you with materials purchased from some other company and then fails to pay them. The supplier company has the right to file a lien against the property owner where the work was done. Get a free consult from an attorney or, better yet call Lakeside and find out what the situation is.
It would appear Stanley & Sons gave Lakeside your address as where the work would be done. Good luck.
I am a representative of William Stanley & Sons Paving, LLC. I am just seeing this review now.
The person who replied to the complaint is partly right. The notice the homeowner received was a notice of a right to lien. Letting the property owner know that IF we don’t pay our bill then Lakeside would have the right to lien the consumers property. The notice the consumer received was NOT a notice of a lien.
Customers get this confused often. I do not see a follow up to this complaint so I am assuming this is what the consumer found out when he called Lakeside Industries. To insuinuate we did not pay our bill at Lakeside would be false. We pay our bills in a timely manner.
I hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you
